چکیده
Abstract Batik is one of Indonesia’s original cultural heritages. In Indonesia, the batik industry largest home-based textile industry. This consumes a large amount water. Due to unavailability wastewater treatment plant, most producers dispose directly into river, resulting in extensive water pollution. Some pollutants, such as color, phenol, and sulfide, have potential pollute environment. Wastewater needed improve quality meet specific safety requirements after treatment. Among physical chemical methods, biological has advantages being more economical environmentally friendly. this study, using immobilized Bacillus lincheniformis on bentonite mineral was investigated. The concentration sulfide mini plant (WWTP) measured before (influent) (effluent) daily parameter. results showed that highest phenol removal efficiency value reached 100%, overall effluent met Indonesian standard. However, some concentrations did not standard, even though 93%. color decolorization at 68%. Those indicate consortium minerals microorganisms from waste can be used promising method treat wastewater.

متن کاملEnzymatic approach to phenol removal from wastewater using peroxidases
Introduction Phenol and its derivatives are present in various industrial effluents and possess a high level of toxicity even at minute concentrations. This could cause serious ecological problems if phenol-containing effluents are discharged untreated or partially treated into water bodies or land sites. Method Conventional wastewater phenol removal methods, which include biological treatment,...
متن کاملHexavalent chromium removal from a simulated wastewater using Fe(II) modified bentonite
Background and Objective: Hexavalent chromium is reported to be highly toxic, mutagenic and carcinogenic; hence treatment of water and wastewater contaminated with this element by low-cost and environmentally friendly methods is of great importance. Therefore the aim of present study was to evaluate the efficiency of Fe(II) modified bentonite for hexavalent chromium removal from a simulated was...
متن کاملHydrogen sulfide and organic compounds removal in municipal wastewater using ferrate (VI) and ultraviolet radiation
Background: In this study, ferrate (VI) and ultraviolet (UV) radiation were employed to remove hydrogen sulfide from municipal wastewater resulting in a reduction in chemical oxygen demand (COD). Although ferrate (VI) and UV have been used individually for the removal of a few pollutants from urban and industrial wastewater, there exists no study to investigate the effectiveness of si...
متن کاملAdsorptive Removal of Reactive Black 5 from Wastewater Using Bentonite Clay: Isotherms, Kinetics and Thermodynamics
The studies of the kinetics and isotherms adsorption of the Reactive Black 5 (RB5) onto bentonite clay were explored in a batch study in a laboratory. The maximum RB5 adsorption conditions of bentonite clay were optimized such as shaking speed (100 rpm), temperature (323 K), pH (10), contact time (40 min), initial dye concentration (170 mg·L−1), and particle size (177 μm). The adsorbent surface...
